The story behind this shirt
Robert Bullard served as the expert witness in Bean v. Southwestern Waste Management Corp. in Houston in 1979, the first lawsuit in the country to charge environmental discrimination in waste facility siting under federal civil rights law, built on his own study of where the city's waste facilities sat. The front print says "Proving harm and winning in court, different things." and, under it, the address of the Environmental Justice page on this site, where the claim sits with its evidence, the best case against it, and the answer.
