DSA passed 120,000 dues-paying members on July 4, 2026, above the Socialist Party's 1912 peak of roughly 113,000 under Eugene Debs. Dues mean signing up and then paying every month, which is a different act from answering one question from a pollster. The front print says "120,000 people paid to join. That is not a poll." and, under it, the address of the Democratic socialism page on this site, where the claim sits with its evidence, the best case against it, and the answer.
