The federal tipped minimum wage has sat at $2.13 an hour since 1991, worth roughly half as much today after inflation. Alaska, California, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington have eliminated the tip credit entirely and pay tipped workers the full state minimum wage before tips.
