Princeton's Net-Zero America study modeled multiple pathways to net-zero emissions by 2050 and found every one of them costs 4 to 6 percent of GDP annually, within the historic range of what the country already spends on energy each year. Getting there by 2030 on the fastest pathway costs about $300 billion more than business as usual over that decade, on top of a projected $9.4 trillion baseline, not the added trillions a rushed mobilization is assumed to require.
